Built upon the SPARC and Solaris architecture, the Sun Fire V240 server is a dual-processor-capable, rack-optimized server designed for high availability. The Sun Fire V240 features a single 1.34 GHz and dual 1.5 GHz UltraSPARC IIIi processors, 8 GB of memory, and four disks. It also comes with four Gigabit Ethernet ports, three PCI slots, two redundant power supplies, a system configuration card, advanced remote management, pre-installed Solaris 10 Operating System, pre-installed Sun Java Enterprise System 2005Q1 software, and an optional SSL card. The Sun Fire V240 server maximizes compute power and data center space, boosts high-speed network connectivity, and provides a secure but flexible platform for expansion. Its data center-class availability in a 2U package sets the standard for rack-ready servers.
