| NetVault: Backup's Encryption plugin module allows data to be encrypted for a backup at the client and it remains encrypted when being sent over the network and while stored on tape to provide end-to-end data security. |

| When data is encrypted, a pre-set algorithm is used to accomplish this. Using CAST 128, a 128-bit ECB encryption mode, data is encrypted at the source; encrypted data is then transferred across the network to a storage device, where it remains encrypted until it is restored back to the client. |
