Oceanspace S5800T

Based on the Unified Systems Architecture, the Oceanspace S5800T is designed for virtualized environments and cloud applications.  In the new cloud-centric data center, performance, data protection, data security, systems access, and storage mobility are delivered as a unified set of services. Huawei Symantec’s S5800T enterprise storage system is built with a modular set of technology blocks that enable IT professionals to run the most demanding Oracle, SAP, Cloud and mission-critical applications to maximize revenues and lower operational costs. The S5800T provides more than big performance and capacity numbers.  It provides secure storage services that support more users per rack, drives more revenues per data center tile, and lowers the transactional cost to make your businesses more competitive.

Enterprise-Class Performance
•  Unified I/O Engine - The T-Series Unified I/O engine is built around 2 x quad-core Xeon clustered, 64-bit, multi-core processor modules that provide the IOP power, cloud data bandwidth, and high performance data caches required for the most demanding applications.

 

•  Flexibility I/O Modules - The S5800T supports up to 12 I/O modules with 48 I/O bi-directional ports that enable Huawei Symantec storage systems to adjust I/O between front-end host connectivity and back-end storage modules, maximizing ROI, performance, and SLAs.
•  SSD I/O Performance - Every application has a specific set of requirements and SLAs that must be met and the T-Series provides SSD caching to tune solutions for maximum IOPs and support for high concurrency of user requests, data base indexing, and maximum bandwidth delivery.  
•  SmartCache I/O Optimization - SmartCache supports up to 96Gb of cache to dynamic monitoring technology to control hotspots in HDD storage and automatically migrates and caches it to SSD, to optimize application performance and better meet SLAs.

•  ISM Enterprise Management - Huawei and Symantec have a long history in enterprise-class management solutions and management tools, and the Oceanspace T-Series is no exception.  Using ISM (Integrated Storage Management),  IT managers are able to control every aspect of their storage environment.

•  HyperMirror Synchronous & Asynchronous Remote Replication - HyperMirror provides two vital functions for IT managers.  It enables multiple sites to share data for round-the-clock IT operations and it is a vital tool in preparing for disaster recovery scenarios.  In Synchronous mode, HyperMirror is able to maintain an exact, real-time copy of your storage data in a secure manner to remote locations. In Asynchronous mode, it is able to produce cost-effective remote replication to meet recovery point objectives (RPO) of under 60 minutes. HyperMirror provides host-independent synchronization and can be used across all OSs and applications.
•  HostAgent Data Protection Manager - HostAgent Data Protection Manager provides a host-based application for managing, configuring snapshots and replication volumes.  Based on policy, regulatory and compliance requirements, older snap shots and replication volumes can be cleaned up and disk space recovered.
•  UltraPath Multi-Pathing Software - UltraPath is a powerful heterogeneous multi-pathing application that supports SAN host connectivity with Huawei Symantec storage systems.  It enables IT managers to specify and select alternate paths for your data in the event of a network failure. Residing on the host, UltraPath multi-pathing enhances SAN performance and application availability by eliminating network failures between the host and storage.  UltraPath's multiple-pathing capabilities, automatic load balancing, and path failover functions provide complete path management.
•  DiskGuard Volume Manager - Huawei Symantec Oceanspace DiskGuard data backup software protects data and operating systems. DiskGuard provides comprehensive protection and quick recovery of data for various applications such as Oracle, DB2, SQL Server, Informix, Sybase, and Exchange.
